The Bullpen
Sydney Van Gorp
Sydney is famously the loud-mouth blonde at every sporting event, arguing with dudes and cussing at the TV when the refs blow a call. She is also known as a passionate sports writer with opinions as bold as a Chiefs’ 4th quarter comeback. A diehard Yankees fan, she’s never afraid to defend the pinstripes in a heated debate, and on a pod with a slew of Boston fans, you can guarantee it. A lifelong Chiefs fan who grew up screaming at Arrowhead, her obsession with defensive football was born thanks to the late, great Derrick Thomas. When she’s not covering the latest sports news, you’ll likely find her tearing up over sports movies (yes, she cries every time Rudy makes that final play). Passionate about equity in sports, she takes pride in championing equal opportunities and visibility for women in sports across all arenas. And yes, women do watch sports—no, she doesn’t need to name five players to prove it. And if any fashion companies are reading this, Sydney would like to say, “Stop trying to put glitter on all women’s sports apparel—we don’t need it. Just give me classic gear that fits my tits!”
Andrew Mark Wilhelm
Andrew Mark Wilhelm watched every single game of the 2008 Detroit Lions 0-16 season and if that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about him, this bio might not help either. A known weeper, Andrew spends most of his time working in theatre, which naturally explains his deep rooted love of all things sports. Keeping track of all the teams Andrew supports is a bit of a geographical conundrum, but it makes sense to him. As the person who hears all of the episodes ahead of time and edits most of them, he can probably be blamed for all the chaos that makes it to air, but he wouldn’t want it any other way.
